A short wheelbase trail vehicle always seems purposeful, and the 2017 Trooper is no exception. The Trooper has that iconic 2-door look from the 1980s and 1990s. It has an amazing, intricately detailed scale bodyshell with multiple moulded accessories, functional front and rear lights with scale light buckets, and a driver figure that makes the car come to life.
A small single speed gearbox and split gearbox situated as low as possible are housed in an LCG chassis that has been CNC machined and placed beneath the Trooper. Reverse gearbox aids in mitigating the torque twist effect. Aluminium oil-filled shock absorbers operate a standard 4-link rear suspension in conjunction with a 3-link front with Panhard bar setup. Spiral cut drive and pinion gears are housed in straight axle front and rear, with heavy-duty universal driveshafts utilised in the front.
The Trooper comes equipped with a metal-geared, waterproof steering servo rated for 25 kg. If you'd like to improve, you may also install a winch servo. A 2000mAH 2S LiPo battery and a 35T 550 sized brushed motor give the power, while a 60amp rated 2-in-1 speed control and 6-channel radio handle the control.
