Tamiya Citroen DS Blue Painted Body (MB-01)

This is a limited-edition model of the iconic Citroën DS (Item 58734). It features a pre-painted body with pre-cut wheel arches and pre-drilled body mount holes, streamlining the assembly process for beginners. The kit captures the essence of the Citroën DS, which debuted in 1955 and gained worldwide recognition for its groundbreaking design and engineering. With over 1,450,000 units sold by 1975, the Citroën DS became one of the most celebrated cars of the 20th century, serving as the official vehicle for the President of France and winning the overall championship in global rallies in 1966. This kit replicates the early model with its distinctive rounded headlights. The polycarbonate body is mounted on the MB-01 chassis, set up with a long wheelbase and a front-motor/front-wheel-drive (FF) configuration.

The MB-01 Chassis

The versatile MB-01 chassis offers a compact 2WD design with options for three different wheelbases and both front- or rear-wheel-drive configurations. This model features a midship motor with a rear-wheel-drive setup. Switching between front- and rear-wheel drive is simple: adjust the attachment orientation of the final gears and steering linkage without removing the battery pack, motor, or R/C equipment from the center frame. Rear-wheel-drive cars can also select between low and high motor positions. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension boasts a symmetrical design with friction dampers, while modular components such as the motor mount, final gears, and suspension make assembly and maintenance straightforward and efficient.
