Tamiya Egress 2013

Tamiya is delighted to announce the return of the Egress, which is the successor of the renowned Avante. Tamiya made advantage of the expertise and knowledge gained by the Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF; formed in 1989) team in order to create a racing version of the Avante, which they called the Egress. The Avante was initially introduced in the year 1988. It utilised racing components such as ball diffs, high-capacity oil dampers, and lightweight titanium screws, and it included carbon fibre plates constructed of the same material that is used in high-tech racing vehicles and aeroplanes. The shaft-driven Egress is now undergoing a transformation that will bring it up to date and open up a whole new realm of possibilities.

This shaft-driven four-wheel drive chassis includes a motor that is positioned longitudinally and complete ball bearings. Additionally, the upper and lower decks of the model are made of carbon fibre, which ensures that the model has exceptional strength. Together with the built-in centre one-way differential, the redesigned front and rear ball differentials offer great dependability and easy maintenance. They also function in conjunction with the centre one-way differential to give guaranteed movement. There is the ability to lock the one-way bearing. In order to maximise power transfer and enhance resistance to wear and tear, universal drive shafts utilise the same design as those used in the present TRF series components. This is done in order to maximise the efficiency of performance. The four-wheel double wishbone suspension is supported by four oil dampers that are supplied with aluminium cylinders. Stabilisers are used in both the front and the back of the vehicle. The front uprights made of aluminium provide an exceptional level of dependability, and the combination of ball bearings in the steering linkage arms and carbon fibre plate that is 2 millimetres thick provides a linear steering response. In addition to having a brushless motor, the Egress has undergone a comprehensive redesign across the board on all fronts.

For sure-footed traction, newly developed ball diffs are utilised in both the front and back of the vehicle, and they are combined with a centre one-way differential.

High-capacity oil dampers are included in the four-wheel double wishbone suspension, which contributes to the vehicle's extraordinary performance off-road.

Compared to the Avante, the Egress has a wheelbase that is 15 millimetres larger, and it also has upper and lower decks made of carbon fibre for increased stability.
