Vw Type 2 [T1] Combi Van M-06

Introduced in 1950, the 1st-generation (T1) variant of the Volkswagen Type 2 van—also referred to as the Volkswagen Bus by many of its ardent fans—is depicted in this TAMIYA R/C model assembly kit. The van itself was still being produced as late as 1967. The rear-wheel drive M-06 chassis and iconic body combine to create an authentic and enjoyable driving experience, similar to the genuine RR Type 2 T1.

The M-06 chassis has a longitudinally located battery pack, a rear-mounted motor, and a low centre of gravity thanks to the placement of the R/C radio gear on either side. Tyres with 60D super grip at the back and 60D radial tyres up front complement the 4-wheel double wishbone suspension. Furthermore, a three-piece steering linkage provides quick handling reaction.

The form of the 23-window Type 2 T1 bus is masterfully recreated in polycarbonate, with separate molded plastic parts included to create bumper, light cases and side mirrors.
The M-06 chassis features a rear-motor, RWD setup with a longitudinally-mounted battery pack and R/C radio gear positioned on either side for optimum balance and a low center of gravity.
This model utilizes the 239mm wheelbase M-06L chassis.
