In the world of cars, the 1980s were known as the decade of the hot hatch! Volkswagen was one of the many car companies that popularised hatchbacks; among enthusiasts, their MK2 GTI 16V was a favourite. As seen in A7 class competition, Tamiya has faithfully modelled the MK2 GTI as a rally race car. The MF-01 chassis, which is comfortable running on both asphalt and flat dirt, serves as the basis for the body!

This small 4WD chassis, built around a durable monocoque frame with integrated gearboxes, provides an exciting drive on both flat dirt surfaces and highways. It has a motor mounted at the back, and power is transferred to the front by a propeller shaft and gear-driven rear wheels. Differential gears are found in both the front and rear gearboxes. Excellent balance is ensured by the battery pack's placement in the centre of the chassis, and friction dampers are used in the 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension.

This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 397mm, width: 170mm, height: 142mm. Wheelbase: 239mm (L-size wheelbase).
The classic form of the Volkswagen Golf MK2 GTI 16V Rally is breathtakingly recreated in rigid, lightweight polycarbonate.
Separately molded plastic components capture light cases, bumper and side mirrors.
The MF-01X chassis is at home on-road or on flat dirt, thanks to 4-wheel double wishbone suspension.
Polycarbonate light cases are compatible with separately sold 5mm LEDs.
Stickers are included to recreate body details.
A host of Hop-Up Option parts are available to tune the MF-01X chassis.
Comes with Tamiya Torque-Tuned motor.

Plus all the other electrical components required to make this kit functional.
