Tamiya Japanese Submarine I-400 Sp 1/350

Built as a submerged aircraft carrier unlike anything else in the world, the I-400 could launch three Seiran aircraft. Comprising an overall length of 122 meters, width of 12 meters, and a submerged 6560 tonne placement, the submarine was the largest in the world at the time and matched a destroyer class warship in size. It also allowed one and a half times of circumnavigate the world without needing restocking or refuelling.

The I-400 could strike unexpectedly at the Allied-held Panama Canal as well as the U.S. East Coast. I-400 construction was finished in December 1944 close to the end of World War Two. Like the I-400, but unlike the I-401, which was on its way to attack the U.S. Naval Station at Ulithi, both submarines never had the chance to see action because of the end of the war. Said to be the forerunner of contemporary strategic nuclear missile submarines, the I-400 boasts a better design.
