A popular choice for the greatest Main Battle Tank (MBT) of the modern era, Tamiya now offers the German Leopard 2 A6, the newest model in the 1/16 scale R/C tank line. DMD Unit T-07 for digital sound effects, lighting, and real action movement is included with this model. Sound effects, including engine start-up, shutdown, acceleration, and discharge, have been digitally recorded from the actual tank to further improve authenticity. The largest R/C tank ever made by Tamiya—driving it feels just like the real thing!

The most recent addition to the Leopard 2 is a newly built 120mm smoothbore main gun chambered in 55 calibre. The Leopard 2 A6's new gun, which is 1.3 metres longer than the 44-caliber main gun of its predecessor, the Leopard 2 A5, has a faster bullet velocity for greater penetration and range. The 2 A6 maintains the enhancements made to the earlier Leopard 2 tanks, such as the enhanced electric gun control and stabilisation system and wedge-shaped spaced armour that is effective against chemical weapons. With the Netherlands, Spain, and Greece utilising the 2 A6 as their primary combat tank, the 2 A6's use is spreading throughout Europe.
