TRF R/C designers at Tamiya never take a break. They are always searching for ways to pack the best features possible into a 1/10 scale touring car chassis for our die-hard R/C racing enthusiasts! We hereby present to you the ALL-NEW TRF 421, which has been under development for the past 2.5 years. Our finest touring vehicle chassis series now features an entirely new suspension and layout design!

Fresh attributes:
With its upgraded drivetrain, redesigned lower deck form, front and rear upper A arms, and shorter dampers, this 2-belt driven 4WD carbon fibre double-deck design is packed with new features that should translate into considerable speed on the track! A selection of one- or two-piece upper deck layouts for varying chassis flex characteristics and improved suspension geometry that maintains a more stable chassis are two other noteworthy upgrades.

Important characteristics of the drivetrain include an oil-filled rear gear diff and a front direct coupling. Drive belts with equal lengths at the front and back reduce pitch.

In order to provide steady roll, the stiff "A"-shaped suspension arms have a 7mm larger span than the TRF420X. Additionally, the upper arm mounts allow for camber adjustment.
There are three locations for the damper pivot.

To reduce the centre of gravity and lighten the chassis, the dampers are 5.5 mm shorter than those on the TRF420X. Directly attach them to aluminium mounts, then adjust using spacers.

  • R/C chassis assembly kit in 1/10 scale.
  • In the drivetrain, the front and rear drive belt lengths are the same for reliable driveability, and the motor location has been shifted 22.7 mm towards the chassis centre in comparison to the TRF420X Chassis Kit.
  • The spur gear may now be attached with just one special nut thanks to an upgraded arrangement of the drive belts and spur gear, improving maintenance efficiency.
  • To reduce ground clearance when the chassis rolls, the new lower deck is smaller than the one on the TRF420X Chassis Kit.
  • Select from one of two upper deck types: one-piece or two-piece. Five different setup patterns are possible by varying the screw placements.
  • Suspension arms with an A form are used for increased rigidity. (I-shaped suspension arms are used with the 420X chassis package.) Extended lower arm spans provide stability and restrict swing width during chassis roll.
  • Longer lower arm widths are accompanied by a switch from suspension blocks to suspension balls in the front and rear suspension configurations. Arm spans that are around 7 mm longer restrict swing breadth and guarantee stability in the event of chassis roll.
  • Uprights can be used to modify the toe angle. (The lower arm's internal toe angle is 0 degrees.)
  • Two types of aluminium bushings provide three attachment damper positions (inner, middle, and outer) on the lower arms of the front and rear.
  • Current high-downforce races can benefit from adjustments to the front and rear caster angles made possible by repositioning the upper arm mounts via screws. Available angles for the front caster are 3, 4, and 5 degrees. Available angles for the rear caster are -.5, -1.5, and -2.5 degrees.
  • In comparison to the 420X chassis package, the dampers are 5.5 mm shorter, which results in a significantly lower centre of gravity and lighter vehicle for a more thrilling drive.
  • To guarantee the same piston level, separate damper ends are employed in the front and back.
  • To preserve the maximum amount of oil and to maximise the use of oil dampers, new damper oil seals (Item 51738) are utilised.
  • This chassis kit uses aluminium mounts to allow for accurate angle modifications based on the quantity of spacers used, whereas the 420X chassis kit uses carbon fibre damper stays.
  • The oil-filled gear differential and direct coupling are used at the front and rear, respectively, and the front and rear differential pullies are freshly moulded. (You can use the Hop-Up Option and Spare Parts that are currently on sale.)
  • Double cardan joint shafts are used in the front, and lightweight universal drive shafts are used in the back. To guarantee effective drivetrain and maintenance, new axle shafts (Item 42388) and 45mm drive shafts (Item 42387) are also utilised for both the front and rear.
  • Durability is improved by newly developed lightweight rear wheel axles.
  • For effective drivetrain maintenance, precision stabilisers are mounted at a lower location than drive shafts. Contains three different diameters: 1.0 mm (x1), 1.1 mm (x2), and 1.2 mm (x1).
  • The steering system combines a redesigned steering bridge with two steering arms and an Ackerman bush.
  • Adjustment of the steering angle is possible with three new types of spacers with varying sizes.
  • includes Item 22078 Aluminium Differential Holders (0.8mm Offset, 2pcs.) and sealed ball bearings from the TRF series for effective rotation.
  • There is no need for adhesive to install the newly designed quick-plate battery holder.
  • Adjust the spacer and post placements according to the battery pack that is attached.
  • Compatible with Shorty packs.
  • includes a carrying case intended specifically for the TRF421 chassis kit.
