With great pleasure, Tamiya announces the arrival of the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC (ST185), another iconic racing vehicle, on our well-liked TT-02 chassis.
In 1992, 5,000 Toyota Celica GT-Four RCs were sold worldwide. The car was created as a homologation vehicle to compete in international rally competitions. This car had a powerful, curved body and a 2-liter turbocharged engine that produced 235 horsepower with metal turbines and a water-based intercooler system.
For improved controllability and traction, the 4WD system used a Torsen differential at the back and a centre viscous coupling. The Celica GT-Four (ST185) introduced Toyota to both Manufacturer's and Driver's Championships in global rally races in 1993.
